For Professionals: Refer a Client

For caseworkers, VA staff, hospital discharge planners, shelters, churches and community organizations. We acknowledge every referral within 1 business day and follow up with a decision or next steps within 2 business days.

Referral Criteria

What referral professionals need to know

Who qualifies

  • Adults 18 or older who are U.S. military veterans, older adults, or women rebuilding after abuse
  • Able to pay rent from any lawful source of income or an approved funding source
  • Willing to follow house rules; manage their own care or arrange it from outside providers
  • Full eligibility details

What we provide

  • Furnished shared and private rooms with utilities, Wi-Fi and laundry
  • House rules, a staff contact and an on-call line for housing emergencies
  • Optional, non-medical support: a Resident Goal Plan, referrals, and help finding transportation options

What we don't provide

  • Medical, nursing or personal care, or medication help
  • Mental health counseling, therapy, substance use treatment or case management
  • 24-hour supervision, emergency shelter, crisis services, meals or rides

Fees

  • Contact us for current rates. Rent can be paid from any lawful source of income, including benefits and rental assistance.
  • No application or referral fees
  • Parker's Promise never pays or accepts a fee for referrals

Documents needed

  • Client's signed consent to share information
  • Photo ID (we can help if the client has none)
  • Proof of income or funding source
  • Veterans: DD-214 or VA letter, if available

What happens next

  • We acknowledge your referral within 1 business day
  • Within 2 business days, we follow up with a decision on fit or the next step
  • We contact your client the safe way they choose, and they complete our standard application with us
  • With your client's consent, we let you know the outcome

Rooms open up throughout the year. Ask us about current availability for any residence. Inquiries about the Women's Residence are handled privately and with extra care.

Become a community partner

We're building a network of agencies, faith groups and community organizations that serve veterans, older adults and survivors. Partners get our room-opening updates and a direct line to our intake team. There's no cost and no contract, and no money changes hands for referrals.

Important: Parker's Promise is an independent living housing program, not a medical or care provider. We do not provide medical, nursing, personal care, medication, mental health, counseling or treatment services, and our staff are not medical professionals. Residents arrange any care they need from outside providers of their choice. In an emergency, call 911. Read our Scope of Services.
